For the younger age kids. A simple story. Not very impressed with content. More for first grade level, and concepts.
Story provided no explanations for the main characters time travel. This was frustrating to my kiddo and me. It seemed to just abruptly stop with no explanation. None of the questions or clues were answered or addressed.
A Time Mystery is an entertaining story of a girl named Amber who seeks answers to a very unique problem unexpected time travel. It skillfully combines scientific theories with surreal and suspenseful happenings that cause the reader to wonder What if?
Interesting characters deliver witty banter, such as Amber’s younger brother and her friends who provide several humorous moments. The parents are predictably helpful and supportive. However, Amber (the main character and narrator) is the most dynamic. Her reactions to “slipping into the past” are believable and wide ranging, from confusion, to curiosity, to fear, to courage, and more.
A Time Mystery contains thought provoking paradoxes expressed through well written and creative storytelling. It is a treat for readers of all ages, especially those who are looking for mystery, suspense, and plausible time travel.
Very interesting. I remember an old country store from when I was young. Lots of interesting theories on time.
Loved the suspense. Found characters believable. Appreciated the career choices suggested. Admired author's research into theories about Time. Couldn't wait to see how it would all be resolved.
When Amber, a young girl, begins slipping back into time, she's scared, confused, and curious. Why is this happening to her? How is it happening? That's the biggest mystery, but not the only mystery in the book. The book has humor, sibling rivalry, adventure, scientific explanations, and is the kind of book you can't put down. If you or your child likes mysteries, you will love A Time Mystery.
This story for young people is exciting, informative, and a a very enjoyable read. Amber, the main character is spunky, humorous, and deals well with her slips into the past. Her family is supportive and she makes interesting friends along the way. The dilemma of slipping into the past needs to be resolved, and there are anxious times for everyone involved dealing with this problem.
